Annie Mae Messer Brooks

Annie Mae Messer Brooks, 94, of Clover and formerly of Gastonia, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill. She was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Dillie and Mary Ball Messer.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by two sons, R.V. “Gene” Brooks and his wife Lori, David Brooks and his wife Evelyn of Clover; three grandchildren, Christopher Brooks and wife Latoya, Amanda Brooks of Clover, Billy Brooks and wife Rosie of Pittsboro, North Carolina; one great granddaughter, Grace Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Christopher Brooks officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Brooks; two daughters, Gladys Brooks, Shirley Trent; two brothers, Isaac Messer, Lloyd Messer.
