Betha Lee Jones

Betha was born on January 22, 1945 in Kennett, Missouri to the late William Walker and the late Violet Imogene Tinsley.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jones; son, Juan Ulep Jr; stepsons, Timothy Jones and Byron Jones; stepfather, Antero Acierto; sister, Louranna Walker Valero; son-in-law, Peter Cohen; brother, Danny Kay Winchester; and her twin brothers.

One of Betha’s favorite activities was sitting in front of the TV watching WWE Raw and was a big fan of Cody Rhodes. She also enjoyed spending her time playing Bingo with friends, doing arts and crafts like knitting and crocheting, and in her younger years, fishing. Above all, Betha was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to many, and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her son, Fred (Selena) Ulep, daughter, Violet Cohen; step-sons, Michael (Vonda) Jones of Escalon, CA, and Terry (Tracy) Jones of Kissimmee, Fl; siblings, Albert Acierto, Catherine Gravely, Francesca Acierto, Antero (Jody) Acierto Jr, Bernardo (Debbie) Acierto, and Vincente Acierto all of CA; as well as 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 16,2025 from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston memorial park at 2205 Williamsburg Dr., Gastonia, NC 28054. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home’s chapel. The committal will follow all services at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Dr, Gastonia, NC 28054 at the Mausoleum of Peace.

The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home's chapel. A committal service will follow all services at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
