Charlie was my uncle , he was truly one of the smartest people I've ever met. My papa used to tell me that he banged his fingers with a hammer and I would cry so hard over the thought of someone hurting Charlie. My grandparents were wonderful parents to Charlie, my nanny would make sure he had a full life and my papaw adored him, one of my best memories I have out of any that I cherish is coming in from a hot summer day playing outside and my nanny chopping a salad for papaw and he and Charlie watching the game!
I can close my eyes and be right there all-over again! Siiiigh!!! I miss those people so much! I wish I could spend just five minutes back in that kitchen, all of us together again. 
I love you nanny, papaw, Charlie and Richard- I pray y'all are together right now!

My sweet Uncle Charlie!!!This is such a heartache and a celebration rolled into one... I'm heartbroken at the lack of time we were able to spend together over these last several years. However; No matter what the circumstances may have been it can't ban the memories that we made together from my heart! I loved listening to you laugh when my dad would tickle your feet or when someone teased you about your girlfriend (samantha).The way you would sing Amazing Grace to the tune of Happy Birthday! ha- NOT ANOTHER SOUL ROAMING THIS PLANET HAD THAT SORT OF TALENT! I would worry myself so sick over you being in the condition you were in, when I pestered Papaw Gardner to answer my constant questioning about your fingers, in his matter of fact tone he would just tell me he got mad once and hit them with a hammer, I would cry until Nanny would fuss at him for saying mean things-you had some AMAZING parents-They made sure to keep you healthy, social & included, I will always respect them for their strength & dedication.  Our last time together I rubbed your stomach and itched your nose,(I knew I would never see you again on this side),I thanked you for being the COOL UNCLE and told you how much I loved you! Ill never forget dressing you up and rolling you around, feeding you apple pie,"bumburgers" & pish! I remember standing outside of your room years after Nanny had passed and I heard you talking to her as if you were in full on conversation with someone in the flesh, I have always known that you were in FACT having a REAL conversation with your MOM! There is so much more I want to say here, I have already said it in the air and I know that you heard me! I seen you stand up out of that bed and grab nanny into a big hug and with her on one side and Jesus on the other, you WALKED OUT OF THAT ROOM - PRAISE GOD ABOVE! I love you with all of me and until we meet again you will always be in my HEART! get your skates on, that's the first thing we have to do when my time arrives-JILL

Charlie , you will forever  be a part of me . I loved and cared for you often over  these last 4 years  .so many times you gave me strength and peace  as a special friend would! I'll love you forever ..And I was always proud to have you around because I knew you were blessing others  just by your presence.  I can't wait to walk with you  in the presence of our Lord and savior  that you so often sang about . Love forever , Dawn 

Charlie wa the sweetest angel I ever knew. He was my sweet  angel. Can’t wait for the day when we have that sweet reunion in Heaven, no more  wheel chair .  We can stroll over Heaven together arm in arm. Love you Charlie!
