Charles Adams Pennington Sr.

Charles Adam Pennington, Sr., passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 1, 2020. Charles was a lifelong resident of Gastonia. He is the son of the late Annabell (McFadden) and Lloyd Ivy Pennington. Charles proudly served his country in The United States Air Force. He was devoted to his wife, Elizabeth (Fraley), for over 67 years. After she passed he had a permanent hole in his heart.

Professionally, he was a salesman. He had a charming personality and he liked to make people laugh. He was a jokester and he was universally loved by all that knew and worked with him. Charles was an avid golfer. He even scored a hole-in-one. Charles will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Preceding Charles in death are his parents and his wife. His son, Charles “Chuck” Adam Pennington, Jr also preceded him in death. His son-in-law, Ronnie W. Potts has preceded him in death as have a number of his brothers and sisters.

Left behind to cherish the memories of Charles are his daughters, Myra Albayati and her husband Mazin and Pamela Potts Hayes and her husband Robert. Missing their grandfather are his grandchildren, Jonathan Walker, Omar Albayati, Sayf Albayati, Zane Albayati, Dustin Potts, Brandi Black and Brent Potts. Charles legacy includes numerious great-grandchildren.

The family will have a private burial.
