Doris Estelle Cavney Estes

A special woman of God who loved her husband and was devoted to her family best describes Doris Estelle Estes who passed away September 30, 2017. She was born in York, South Carolina on February 16, 1931 to the late Lewis and Lila (Setzer) Cavney. Doris married her high school sweetheart, George Estes and they raised their family in Dallas, North Carolina. She loved flowers and gardening, was an accomplished seamstress, played the piano and enjoyed painting. Doris was a member of Dallas United Methodist Church and loved her church. She was also a devoted caregiver to their son, Eddie who lived with cerebral palsy all his life. Doris will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, George Estes of Dallas, North Carolina; daughter, Angela Rene Sisk and husband, Fred of Kings Mountain, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Estes.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas, North Carolina. Officiating will be Reverend Caroll Flack.
