Dorothy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger Welch of Gastonia; son, Trent Welch and wife, Jessica of Gastonia; 2 grandchildren, Kara and Tyler Welch; sisters, Judy Cope of Belmont, NC and Gail Hayes of Lake Norman, NC.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Beam.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 3 at Carothers Funeral Home, 312 W. 2nd Ave in Gastonia. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
