Elzie Eugene Brown (Gene), 89, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday May 18, 2022 at The Robin Johnson House surrounded by his loved ones. Gene was born in Montgomery, AL on April 3, 1933 to the late Albert and Louise Brown.
Gene retired from Westinghouse Turbine Corporation. He was a member of Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. Gene loved spending time with his family, especially going out to eat with his granddaughter and best friend Punky. He enjoyed going fishing, taking cruises, going to the American Legion, and hanging out with his brother Bobby Brown, who called Gene his buddy.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Christine; daughter, Mickey Teague, and sister, Helen Smith.
Gene is survived by his brother, Bobby Brown and wife Geraldine; two daughters, Deborah Gibson, Karen Fraley and husband Steve; twelve grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church. A service to celebrate his life will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Heath Honeycutt officiating. The committal service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
