Evelyn S. Fleenor, 82, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 27th 2023. She was born in Lowell, North Carolina on June 29th 1941 and was one of seven children of Arthur Cephus Savage and Inez May Savage.
She was married to Bruce W. Fleenor on April 20, 1986 and they recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary. Evelyn enjoyed a successful career in electronics as a quality control inspector for IBM and Solectron. She had a passion for travel, camping, nature and the outdoors, and music. She loved to dance.
In addition to her parents, her son Roy Scott King of Gastonia, NC also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Fleenor of Charlotte, NC and daughters Tamyria Woodworth of Easley, SC, Belinda Negrete of Gastonia, NC, Connie Piserchio of Newark, CA, and Peggy King of Huntersville, NC. She had seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A service celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday September 9, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Dr., Gastonia. Reverend Roger Overton, of Second Baptist Church in Mount Holly, will officiate.
