

Evelyn Overman Crumbley Morris, 74, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 2, 2014 at her residence in Gastonia, NC. She moved from western North Carolina to the Ranlo Community when she was five years old.
Evelyn retired as office manager with Burlington Industries Transportation, Gaston terminal where she worked her entire career. She was an avid reader and belonged to the As The Page Turns Book Club in Gastonia. She was socially active and a founding member and president of G.R.O.U.P.--Gaston Regional Organization of Unattached Persons.
She is survived by her grandson Aaron Crumbley of Charlotte, NC; stepdaughter, Pam Morris; daughter-in-law Abbie Aizcorbe (Francisco) of Charlotte; sisters Barbara Pressley (Charles) of Burlington, NC and Sheila Pike (Tom) of Spartanburg, SC; aunts Lois Walker of Gastonia, Doris Green of Lillian, AL, and uncle Lyle Simonds of Portland OR; cousins Tommy Walker and Randy Walker (Angie) of Gastonia and Loren Simonds of Salem, OR; nieces Ellen Akers (Bruce) of League City, TX and Hope Wolfe (Jamie) of Roebuck, SC; nephew Jeff Wiggins of Norwood, NC.
Evelyn was predeceased by her grandparents, John and Wanda Green; mother, Lena Green; husband, Charles (Charlie) Morris; son, Harvey James (Jay) Crumbley, III.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 4 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel in Gastonia at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
