Born in Georgia and moved to North Carolina where she graduated from Cramerton High. She worked for Burlington Industries for 25 years, Cramerton Automotive and Modern Globe. She was a volunteer at New Life Pregnancy for Linda Payseur for over 15 years. She was a faithful member of New Hope COG.
Preceded in death by parents, Odis and Eula Sorrows; husband, Dewey Safrit; son-in-law, Nathan Cloninger; brother, LC Sorrells; sisters, Virginia Laws (Ed), Frances Royston (Aaron) and Betty Sewell.
Survived by daughter, Jennifer Cloninger; sons, Danny Safrit (Cindy), Jeff Safrit (Debbie) and Johnny Safrit (Myra); grandsons, Kevin Safrit (Holly), Derek Safrit (Stephanie), Jonathan Safrit (Ashley), Brandon Safrit (Robyn), Brian Safrit (Jessie) and Matthew Safrit; great grandchildren, Cameron, Megan, Madison, Peyton, Rae Ann, Bailey, Branson, and Bryson; sister, Joann Patterson (June) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. A committal service will immediately follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Leanne, Tracy, Katie and Holly for their care and support from Gaston Hospice. Also, Jodie Phillips for her care and help.
