Ilene Osborne Wyatt, age 79, who was born in Washington County Virginia (Bristol) passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday ~ February 12, 2019 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Ilene was a Great piano player who was self taught and played by ear. She loved to play card and board games. Ilene held the position of executive secretary of the president and vice president of Threads, known today as Dixie Yarns. She loved her children and spending time with her grandchildren who were the apples of her eye. Ilene was of the Baptist faith and is going to be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Those left to cherish Ilene's memories and carry on her legacy are her daughter and son in law: Cathy and David Bentley of Dallas, North Carolina; two sons and daughter in law: Jeffery Wyatt of Gastonia, North Carolina, Michael and June Wyatt of Gastonia, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Adam Nicholson and companion Brandy Heavener, Jonathan and Stephanie Nicholson, John and Jamie Wyatt, Ashley Wyatt and companion Joe Ryan II, Bethany Wyatt; five great grandchildren: Kash Heavener-Nicholson and Kruz Heavener-Nicholson, Zach Wyatt, Bobby Wyatt and Joe Ryan III.
Ilene was the daughter of the late John Earl Osborne and Myrtle Trivette Osborne. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Anna Lee Osborne and two brothers, Paul Osborne and Gilmerlee Osborne.
A Life Well Celebrated Memorial Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday ~ February 16, 2019 at the New Covenant Church, 631 Efird Street, Gastonia, North Carolina with Reverend John Pelonero delivering words of comfort and hope to Ilene's family and friends. Inurnment will be held at a later date by her family.
