James Bruce Norwood, age 88, of Gastonia, North Carolina passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. James was born March 4, 1934 to the late James Frank and Stella Graham Norwood.

He drove a bus for many years for the City of Gastonia and Trailways. Bruce always enjoyed playing a game of golf.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Sweatt Norwood; children, Yvonne Norwood, Jimmy Norwood and Greg Norwood; two step-children, Keith Hyman and Kathy Hyman Stewart; and grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin brother, David Norwood.

A memorial service for James will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Union Road Baptist Church, 103 Summer Place, Gastonia, North Carolina 28056. Pastor Jack Gouge will be officiating.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Union Road Baptist Church.
