Lisa was born to Mary Ellen Ferguson and TJ Willard on March 3, 1967 in Charlotte, NC. She was a graduate of Ashbrook High School in 1985 and received an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Gaston College.
Lisa married Barry David Meeks on April 20, 1991 and went on to have their precious daughter Brayley Ellen.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Lisa also loved reading, traveling with family and friends (Just Us Girls Sailing- Cruises), staying actively involved with children’s summer camps, holding various volunteer roles at Forestview High School Marching Band and Color Guard. She was a dedicated member at Parkwood Baptist Church where she was involved in women’s ministry. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Lisa joins her parents Mary Ellen Ferguson and TJ Willard; her brother Johnny Ferguson and sister Kathy Ferguson Scott in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband Barry, her daughter Brayley, her brother Richard Ferguson (Kay), her sister Patricia “Pat” Crumbley, her nephews: Brian Scott, Greg Scott (Ann), James C Scott (Dawn), Dale Ferguson (Christine), Dean Ferguson (Dana); her nieces: Leslie Ferguson, Kristi Easler (Ashley); her great-niece,Sydney Scott and her great-nephews: Jesse Scott, Cody Scott, Christopher Scott.
She has touched the lives of so many with her unconditional love, generosity and kindness through her work at Gaston County Schools as a substitute teacher and at Cotton’s Seafood Restaurant as a waitress/hostess.
She will be forever missed.
A visitation for Lisa will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1729 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, North Carolina 28054. A Celebration of Life service will occur at 12:00 PM in the church sanctuary. A committal service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
