Kathy Thi Nguyen

Kathy immigrated to the United States on her own when she was 18 years old. She had no formal education and learned to speak and read English through her own courage and passion. She became a citizen of the United States through hard work and resolve. She worked in textiles her entire career, and she spent the last 27 years loyally working at Beverly Knits in Bessemer City.

Kathy was a loyal and great wife, mother, and grandmother. She was married to Hung for over 40 years. She became a mother of five children and worked tirelessly to provide a good life for her family. Her passion was for her family, especially her children, and she desired to provide them an easier life than she had. She was selfless, compassionate, loving, beautiful, and strong. She loved cooking for events and always looked forward to having her children come home to visit. She has a beautiful voice and she would sing while she cooked or cleaned.

Kathy is survived by her husband. Hung Nguyen, and her children; Minh Nguyen, Dung Nguyen, Hien Nguyen, Jennifer Nguyen and Jonathon Nguyen. Her legacy includes her grandchildren; Sophia and Amber Nguyen, Annabelle, AvaLynn, and Adeline Nguyen.

A service in remembrance of Kathy will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 23, 2023 in The Cardinal Hall of Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in The Garden of Hope at Gaston Memorial Park.
