He was a faithful member of Friendship Christian Church in Gastonia, NC where he served on the Usher Board for many years.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Rosie Bell Ratchford Burris and James Edward Burris; two sisters, Pearl Wilson and Isabell Watson.
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Gladys Burris; sons, Anthony Burris and Darrell Burris; his sisters, Ella Kee, Gladys Webber, Jessie Ross, Josie Walker and Ida Burris; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends Cynthia and Willie.
A visitation for Lonnie will be held in The Cardinal Hall, Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 pm with a committal service to follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
