A gracious, loving mother and grandmother best describes Mary Weathers Hopper, 81 who passed away on November 5, 2017. She was a native of Gaston County born April 6, 1936 to the late Alton and Ethel (Champion) Weathers. Mary was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed word search puzzles, coloring and Mary especially loved chocolate. All her knew and loved her will miss her dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Wanda Beane and James Black of Samson, AL, Barbara Barker and husband, Trey of Belmont, NC, Patty Beane of Shelby, NC, Susan Roberts and husband, Dan of Gastonia, NC; sister, Joan Weaver of Double Shoals, NC; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.G. Hopper and son, Tim Hopper.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia. A private entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
