Mary Lee Upton

She was the owner and operator of Mary’s Kitchen. Mary held the position of president and was an active member of ECA, receiving multiple awards. She loved baking and was also a talented seamstress.

Mary was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. A giving spirit and the matriarch of her family, she embodied the qualities of a Proverbs 31 woman.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 49 years, Harold Upton; son, Turner Kent Upton; grandson, Matt Robinson; brother, Ray Alexander and son-in-law, Randy Spencer.

She is survived by her children, Butch Upton and his wife Kathy, Marilyn Spencer, Tina Cabe and husband Michael, and AJ Lawing and wife Melissa; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. A committal service will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Grace Baptist Church.
