

Pauline “Polly” Rudisill Brewer Smith, 87, of Dallas, North Carolina went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 2, 2016. Polly was the best mom to her children. She was fully involved in her church and she enjoyed traveling with the senior group from Long Creek Memorial Baptist church. She camped and traveled to see many relatives across the United States. Polly was good with her hands. She enjoyed making quilts and doing embroidery. Polly also enjoyed taking pictures. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Polly was the daughter of the late Paul L. Rudisill and Viola Hoover Rudisill. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clyde Smith and a son; Giles Brewer Jr.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Ellen Long, Barbara and husband Reverend Kenny Cobb, Dottie and husband Scott Martin and Linda and husband Fred Hill. Her surviving sons are Roger D. and wife Roberta Brewer and Rickey E. and Rhonda Brewer. Polly leaves behind one sister; Bertie Smith. Polly also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Polly will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church, 210 Long Creek Church Road, Dallas, North Carolina 28034 with Reverends Jim Shaw and Kenny Cobb to officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2015 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina.
Graveside and interment will be held immediately following the Celebration of Life Service at Gaston Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Polly’s honor to Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Gaston Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
