

Bob (Bobby Joe) Fisher was born August 12, 1929 to Franklin and Myrtle Fisher in Kerens, (Navarro County) TX. His father was a share cropper and later a Methodist preacher. Bob had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Johnny and Clarence; sisters, Esther and Frankie. He is survived by his older brothers, Nolan and Norris, and younger brother, Carlton. Bob graduated from Westminster Jr. College, served in the Air Force as a Sr. Radiology Specialist, and earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from Lamar University. He later received a Master’s degree in Counseling from TCU. Bob worked for 33 years at Lennox Heating and Air-Conditioning Plant in Ft. Worth. After retiring in 1991, he owned an herb shop, Herb’s and Such in Salado before doing home maintenance in the Georgetown area for several years. Bob and Patricia Fisher had 3 sons and a daughter. Bob is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rosalyn; sons, Rob of Ft. Worth, Rick and his wife Sandra of Golden, Co., and Bill of Ft. Worth; daughter, Krista and her husband Donnie Teis; step-daughter, Laura Santilli of Bangor, ME. He was a loving grandpa to eight grandchildren, Sam, Andy, Josh, Amelia, Harmony, Cadence, Aria, and Reece. Bob was an avid lover of nature, and a volunteer park ranger on the trails in Georgetown; a member of the Georgetown Natural History Club, and a past member of the Williamson County Native Plant Society. He designed and built a native plant landscape and grew herbs in his yard. He and Rosalyn are members of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Georgetown, where he served on the Board of Trustees, the Library Committee, and built sets for dramas directed by his wife. Bob died peacefully in the evening of October 5, 2011, at home with his family, under the care of Scott & White Hospice. A visitation and memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Georgetown on Monday, October 10, 2011; visitation beginning at 6:00 pm and the memorial service to follow at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to plant a tree on one of the trails in Georgetown. His wish is to have his “ashes taken to a secluded, natural wooded site or planted under a new tree sapling.”
