Cecelia Yeatman Petty, age 92, passed away on May 30, 2025 in Pflugerville, Texas under the care of Tranquility Hospice. She was born in Takoma, Maryland on August 19, 1932 and spent her early years in Washington, DC before moving to Silver Spring, Maryland.
Cecelia married Francis Petty on September 20, 1952. Over the following seven years she gave birth to five children. Until they all reached high school, she was occupied with their care.
In her next chapter she took up golf and world travel. When Ceal and Frank retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, they used to joke that they needed to take a day off from golf to go to the grocery store.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Petty, brother, Francis Yeatman, daughter, Patricia Petty Burns and great granddaughter, Maggie Colwell. She leave brothers: Rudolph Yeatman of Sarasota, Florida, William Yeatman (Carmen) of Scarborough, Maine. Children: Suzanne Petty of Georgetown, Texas, Charles Petty of Denton, Texas, Christine Reynolds of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and Ruth Colwell (Randall) of Austin, Texas. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held June 23rd at 11 am at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Andice, Texas.
