Claire Julia Saccone, age 80 of Round Rock, Texas passed away quietly and comfortably at her home on March 1st, 2022. At her beside, she was surrounded by the love of three generations she had created - her devoted husband Phillip, her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Claire was the daughter of Charles and Helen Nagy of Carteret, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Carteret High School and after graduating went to work as a receptionist at Prudential Insurance in Newark. Although her husband Phillip was also a graduate of Carteret High School, Phillip and Claire actually met in their carpool. Claire left Prudential to become a full-time mom and raised four boys at their home in Carteret.
Claire was born and lived in Carteret most of her life. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Carteret and later a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Carteret. She was always active with the church and with any organization that supported her husband and children – including the Knights of Columbus, the Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts. Upon retiring, Claire moved to Leander, Texas with her husband Phillip to be closer to their grandchildren. Claire and Phillip later moved to Round Rock where they were active members of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park.
Claire is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years – Phillip and their four sons: Phillip Jr and his wife Ellen, Michael and his wife Laura, Daniel and his current wife Melody and previous wife Joanne, and Steven and his fiancé Martha. Claire was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren: Evan and his wife Portia, Lauren and her husband Dustin, Emily and her husband Eric, Emma, Mia, Siena, Rebecca, Olivia and Joey and four great grandchildren: Emalyn, Aubrey, Ava, and Orion. Claire is also survived by her three brothers: Charles Nagy of Carteret, NJ; Richard Nagy of Carteret, NJ; Dennis Nagy of Edison, NJ; and Alice Simpkins of Bridgeton, NJ and her late sister Helen Sysock of Lopez, PA.
Claire most loved spending time with her loving and devoted husband Phillip and the generations of family they created together - whether touring the U.S. and Canada in their travel trailer, cruising in the Gulf of Mexico, or vacationing at Walt Disney World. Claire’s happy place was always with family! She loved quilting, cooking, baking, hosting large family events, collecting Hummels, Thomas Kinkaid paintings, and all things Disney and passed those passions on to her family.
In her life, she most likely would have given advice to ease her passing through the words of Winnie the Pooh, “If there ever comes a day that we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever.” Claire…wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother…you will be in our hearts forever.
A visitation for Claire will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. The funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1101 W New Hope Dr, Cedar Park, TX 78613. The burial will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
