Curtis Moab Taylor received the gift of life on April 4, 1916 in Briggs, Texas. He was the blessing of the Lord to his parents, Moab and Eva Taylor. Our brother in Christ was called out of this life in Rockdale, Texas on September 3, 2007 at the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 30 days. He had moved to that community in 2001 to be closer to his daughter and family. “Blessed,” writes John the Apostle, “are those who die in the Lord.” Also, this from Paul’s pen: “None of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” Curtis was adopted into God’s eternal family in the Holy Washing of Baptism on May 31, 1952 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lubbock Texas, by the hand of Rev. Louis Pabor. The Bible says, “Baptism does also now save us.” Having been instructed in the teachings of the Christian faith, he was also received into communicant membership at Redeemer the following day – June 1, 1952. “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.” Our brother in Christ ran a Wholesale Gasoline Distributorship in Ft. Stockton, Texas for nearly thirty years. Early on, Curtis had graduated from Briggs High School, the community of his birth. He later attended Drones Business College in Austin, Texas for two years. The family became Charter Members of Faith Lutheran Church in Georgetown on Valentine’s Day, 1982. Interestingly, Curtis and Vi had also been Charter Members of Faith Lutheran Church in Ft.
