So much to say....First, and foremost... Thank you and Welcome Home.
Thank you for your service to our Country, families of this Country and your family. We love you more than any words written by the most accomplished of writers can express. Well done... God's Good and Faithful. 

Welcome Home.

Even though I didn't know Mr. Nichols Sr. I would have liked to have thanked him for the time he spent in the service of our country.  He is a true Hero!

Few find the character and strength that this one man had.  I was looking out over the night's sky in Texas when I first met Mr. Donald James Nichols Sr. and he asked me if I knew what constellation I was looking at, and of course I did not, but he did.  He had a kindness and reverence for life that few ever find.  I am proud to have known him and seen such love for family in the entire Nichols clan.  Blessings on all of you.

Don Nichols treated me like his own son when I was in high school. I had very close friendship with his sons Nick,John and Mike. Robbi always had a plate at the table for me. There were great times on our motorcycles, shooting pool and playing poker. I will miss him and appreciate the positive impact he had on my life.

Good man. Glad to have known him. He will be missed.

Uncle Don always had a smile and words of wisdom. I'll miss the chance to take another motorcycle trip with him. He took me and my cousins on my first bike trip to Garner State park in 1970 and I still talk about that trip along with the other rides we took together. I'll miss him.

He was a wonderful and loving man. I feel blessed to have known him. His absence will be felt in many ways.

My father never forgot where he came from. He was raised during the depression and the experience of those days stayed with him to the end. He was always helping people out when they needed a hand. While he could be gruff at times he never failed to be there when needed. Dad loved his family and always made sure we knew how important family was. After my grandmother died he took care of his sister until she passed away a few years ago.  He never complained and made sure she had a comfortable pleasant life to spend her remaining years. Dad loved my mother in a way that most couples hope for. He taught his sons to stand on their own and to put family first. My brother John and I spent many hours riding and talking motorcycles with dad. Dad was still riding until he was over 82. Dad loved his country. He was proud of his days in the 82nd Airborne and the 1st Calvery Division. Dad never talked much of his time in Vietnam but the memories stayed with him until the end. 
I loved my father. A man could not have asked for a better dad. I am going to miss knowing he was always there if I needed him. I already miss him.

Donald James Nichols was my great uncle, my Uncle Don. I always had great respect and admiration for him. He was obviously a big influence on his sons, but I'm not sure he was aware of the impact he had on his nephews, my dad and my uncle, as well as myself, his great nephew. I have nothing but praise and reverence for my uncle; I will miss him dearly.

My Papaw was an amazing man that loved life and his family. He always had a smile for me even when he was sick. I am thankful that I had him in my life for so long and am going to miss him very much.
