Donna lived her young school aged life in Bartlett and then later attended TSTI (now TSTC), in Waco, to obtain her Dental Assistant certification. She moved to Nashville, briefly, before settling back in Austin, TX.
Donna spent the majority of her life in the dental world. She worked for a couple of different dentists before she settled in, with the practice of Dr. Richard E. King, on May 1st, 1995. Donna worked at Dr. King’s practice for over 25 years. She loved very few things more than her job, her coworkers, and patients. Donna spoke highly of each and every one of them regularly.
Donna Kay was known for her smile, infectious laugh, distinctive southern accent, and of course her love for Elvis Presley. She had an extreme liking for old movies and music. Donna Kay was always the first one ready to tell a joke or a funny story and loved to see other people happy.
Donna was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. Known simply as Aunt Kay, she fiercely loved and supported all of her nieces, nephews, and great nieces/nephews like they were her own. She was always the fun, crazy Aunt and wasn’t afraid to show it.
Donna Kay is preceded in death by her father, Donald Wade, Sr., her mother, Lovedia Wade, her sister, Diana (Tina) Wade, her beloved dog, Presley, and many other close family members, throughout the years. She is survived by her brothers, Donnie Wade and wife Linda of Tempe, AZ; Joel Wade and wife Betty, of Elgin; and Samuel Wade, of Salado. Donna Kay is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The Wade family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Park Manor Bee Cave, for their love and support of Donna Kay over the last year.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation, or the Capital Area Dental Foundation.
A Visitation with the family will take place at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas, on Thursday, August 5, from 6-8 PM.
The Funeral Service will be held the following morning, Friday, August 6, at 10 am also at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, with the burial immediately following at Bartlett City Cemetery.
