Georgia Ruth Malone

Georgia Ruth Malone, 77 of Georgetown, died April 5, 2009 in a local hospital. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2009 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery in Georgetown. Georgia was born January 28, 1932 to George Washington and Elpha Jane (Thomas) Risner in Georgetown. She attended and graduated from Georgetown High School in 1949. She furthered her education with a Bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University in 1967. She married Cecil R. Malone from 1952-1980. Georgia taught Business Administration at Liberty Hill and then Leander High Schools from 1968 until retiring in 1992. She was a member of Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ. Georgia was an avid scrapbook maker. She made books about family members, Georgetown, and Williamson County. Georgia really enjoyed tracing family geneology, she had traced her roots back past 1789. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, G.W. “Buddy”, Jr.; sister, Alice Raye Manning; and nephew, Samuel Ray Manning. She is survived by her son, John R. Malone of Georgetown; grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Ray Malone of Georgetown, Rachel Danyelle Malone of Georgetown, and a nephew Kenny and his wife Gayle Manning of Georgetown.
