Grace was a wife to her wonderful husband, Dale Smith. A mother to 4 beautiful children & their families: Lesleigh Alba, Joaquin Alba, Scarlet Salazar, and Joaquin Alba, Jr; Heather Andrews, Matthew Andrews, Tasia Andrews, Nyah Andrews, Jayda Andrews; John Viera & Donna Beck; Philip Hatchett-Smith & Kayla Hatchett-Smith. Grace adored having a large family, that came together to celebrate one another.
She never missed a holiday, even ones of other religious descents she honored. “Her holiday” was Christmas Eve, where she held a “Feast of Seven Fishes”, celebrating her Italian heritage. Anyone and everyone were invited to join, the more the merrier in her eyes!
Grace never failed to keep every relationship she had maintained and watered with her love. She took time to make a phone call, send a text, or come together in person with each person in her life, throughout her life. She always made sure to check-in and send her hugs and kisses.
One of the most treasured things Grace always provided was a hug and a kiss when you arrived and when you left. She always made sure to tell you how much she loved you and how much you meant to her. Though it may have seemed she did not have patience at times, just because she liked to harass you with her love, she knew with time things would fall into place.
There is not a soul who Grace has come into contact with that will not miss her presence here on earth, but we know she is in Heaven watching over us. Grace was a woman of God, and she was taken on his resurrection weekend to celebrate with her Lord. She always pointed out signs of her loved ones that passed away, through the birds, the butterflies, and other sentimental moments. She was a lover of nature, her favorite of all, of course, Pandas. I know she will be watching over us and giving us signs that she is forever with us.
Hugs and kisses, till we see you again, our beautiful Grace Ann Giaconia Smith.
