Time to say goodbye to Harold Harding Logan after almost 96 years of living--he passed on Monday, November 20, 2017. Born in Butler, Oklahoma, in 1922, he had two brothers and sisters, all now deceased. Orphaned at 13, he was raised by his sisters. He graduated from Tuttle High School in 1939 and moved to Corpus Christi with his sister Ethel’s family.
Drafted into the Army in 1941, he served in the Pacific Front, New Caledonia, for much of World War II. In the medical unit, he became a Master Sergeant and returned on New Year’s Eve, 1945, landing in San Francisco Bay. He said he never hand a gun and couldn’t swim.
He graduated from the University of Texas in 1948 with an accounting degree, and was immediately hired by Texaco. He worked in Corpus Christi in his early years, then in Houston until his retirement in 1982.
He married the lovely Louie Alline “Frenchy” Gagnee in Hebronville, Texas, in 1952; she passed in 2003. She had four children from a previous marriage (Micky, Sandy, Bill and Bob), and the couple had two more children, Linda and Harold “Happy” Logan, Jr. They also helped raise a grandchild, Steven.
They built their dream home in Lago Vista, Texas, moving to their final home in Georgetown 22 years ago.
Harold and his wife were long time Methodists and members of the First United Methodist Church--always in the hands of God.
