

James Robert "Jim Bob" Holcomb, 51, passed from this earth on Friday, September 25, 2015. Jim Bob was a loving husband, father, and son. He was a fun-loving papa and uncle. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing. He also had a love for football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, and bull riding. Watching the Cooking Channel with Susan was one of his favorite pastimes. He coached several Pop Warner teams over the years; he was passionate about not just the game, but more importantly his players. He was a talented performer, well known in Central Texas for his singing and his skill on the guitar. He never met a stranger and was always willing to go out of his way to help anyone. Jim Bob was born in Georgetown, TX on February 20, 1964 to James and Alice Holcomb. He married Susan Schmaal on November 21, 1988 in Georgetown. They were married 27 1/2 years and had one daughter and one son. He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Holcomb Sr., and his sister, Tammy Holcomb Ford. Jim Bob is survived by his wife Susan Schmaal Holcomb; his daughter, Jaimee Holcomb of Odessa; his son, Ryan Holcomb of Georgetown; his mother, Alice Holcomb of Georgetown; and two grandchildren, Alaina and Allie. He is also survived by his nephews, Chris Meuth, Brad Holcomb, and his nieces, Holly Meuth, Kasey and Brooke Jenkins. Visitation will be on Monday, September 28 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, with family present from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows (IOOF) Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Gabriels Funeral Chapel.
