J.B. Williams

JB Williams passed away on March 6, 2013, in Georgetown, Texas. JB was born March 18, 1928, to Chester R and Lillian Williams in Briggs, TX. JB grew up on a small farm on the edge Liberty Hill, Texas. He was one of twelve siblings consisting of six boys and six girls. JB attended school in Liberty Hill until he enlisted in the US Army. JB was of veteran of World War II. After returning home from WWII, he married the love of his life, Grace Inez Simpkins, on March 6, 1948. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage together.

JB was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters where he worked his way up to becoming a superintendent. When he was not at work, he could be found in his barn building shelves, picture frames, and other items. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. JB was a longtime member of the Liberty Hill Church of Christ where he served several years as elder. JB had a deep love for his family. He enjoyed the holidays with everyone around.

JB was preceded in death by his parents and four of his brothers: Thurman Williams, Orville Williams, Harvey Williams, and Dink Williams. He is survived by his wife, Grace Williams; son, Jim Williams; daughters and son-in-laws, Sue Williams, Sharon and Cadmus Brown, Teresa and Sid McBeath, and Tammy and Scott Kirk; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; his brother Chester D Williams; his sisters Wilma Brown, Lois Kanetzky, Jean Crumley, Charline Shoener, Christine Williams, and Ida Bonnet and numerous nephews and nieces. He is also survived by Mary Parker who he often referred to as his "adopted daughter".

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, located at 2900 Williams Drive in Georgetown, Texas. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas.
