

Jean was born Nov. 6, 1926 in the Florence area to Jesse Elijah and Dorsie Sexton Grumbles. She graduated from Florence High School. Jean married Buddy Priest Feb. 16, 1944, and enjoyed 61 years together before his death in 2005. They were blessed with 4 children, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She had such an unconditional love for her children, grands, and great ‘grands and she will be greatly missed by all. Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church in Round Rock and the “Joy” Sunday School Class.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buddy Priest; two sisters, Maxine Knauth and Jesse Lois Knight; and one brother, Jack Grumbles.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her sons, Noel Ray, Jr. and wife Ernestine, Chan and Wife Jeanne; her daughters, Gay and husband Tommy Hudson, and Beth and husband Lynn Browder; her grandchildren, great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2PM, Tuesday, March 7, at First Baptist Church of Round Rock under the direction of The Gabriels Funeral Chapel and Crematory with burial to follow at Florence Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at The Gabriels.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lawrence Priest, Wendall Campbell, Heath Lusty, Harlan Lusty, Wes Bryant, Tom Hudson, Matt Priest, and Jesse Priest.
