Jonathan “Jon” Bushnell Tait, 46, a former resident of Austin, Texas passed away on September 5, 2015 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after a long battle with addiction. Jonathan was born on March 7, 1969 in Tallahassee, Florida.
He was predeceased by his father, David N. Tait, Sr., of Ridgewood, New Jersey and his sister, Elizabeth Jane (Betsy) Tait of Austin, Texas. Jonathan is survived by his mother, Jane M. Tait and stepfather, Neil A. Williams of Georgetown, Texas, brother, David N. Tait and sister-in-law, Elisha Fontenot of Austin, Texas, three stepbrothers and one stepsister.
Jonathan attended the Saint Thomas Choir School for Boys, New York City, graduated from Ridgewood High School, Ridgewood, New Jersey, attended Parsons School of Design, New York City and UT Austin. He was a talented musician and artist.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Austin Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Jonathan Bushnell Tait to Waggoner Center for Alcohol and Addiction Research, The University of Texas, Austin, Texas 78712.
