Kathleen was born in Wharton, Texas on September 19, 1963 to Jerry Bilicek and Ann Hickl Bilicek. Kathleen grew up on the family farm until her graduation from El Campo High School in 1982. After graduation, Kathleen went to work fulltime in the oil and gas industry while attending college, receiving her accounting degree from the University of Houston. It was during this time that she met her husband, John. They married August 31, 1996 and she moved to Fort Worth to be with her beloved.
In Fort Worth Kathleen excelled as a leader for Union Pacific Resources Company. Upon the merger of Union Pacific and Anadarko Petroleum, Kathleen and her family moved to The Woodlands where she worked until she retired as the Director of the Enterprise Systems Group for Anadarko. During her career, Kathleen found her greatest fulfilment in mentoring young professionals and guiding them to success both personally and professionally. After retirement, Kathleen and her family moved to Corn Hill, Texas and built her dream home.
Although Kathleen excelled professionally, her true devotions were to her family, her faith, and her community. With her husband, she raised four wonderful children. Kathleen supported her children to be all they could be, working with them on school activities, attending sporting and leadership development events, and helping them to grow in faith and love. Kathleen was actively involved in school and community clubs. She also volunteered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church teaching religion to the parish youth and assisting with many other activities, including the church bazaar.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Ann Bilicek of El Campo. Kathleen is survived by her husband John Valenta of Corn Hill, their son Dr. John Anthony Valenta of Houston, daughter Meghan Valenta of Longview, son Joseph Valenta of College Station and son Michael Valenta of Corn Hill.
