Keren Ella Shalom Leal went eternally into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 5, 2023, in Georgetown, Texas. Born at home in Georgetown, Texas, on May 17, 2010, of parents Janis (Menke) Leal and Roland Leal, our sweet Ella spent 12 blessed years as the youngest of ten children growing up on the land where she was born and now has passed.
As the youngest in a large family, Ella yet stood tall as her own unique self while enjoying most of all spending time with family. As a homeschooled child she enjoyed pursuing many interests which included painting and drawing, art and design, horses and dogs, animals in general, and using her imagination especially outdoors where she loved to roam. As a person, she was a curious dreamer who truly reflected the meaning of her three given names, as Keren means “glorious dignity” and “colorful ray,” Ella means “God is my light,” “shining” and “bright,” and Shalom means “peace.” Without a doubt, she was a uniquely beautiful tapestry of pure, vibrant light infused with peace which led her to diligently seek intimacy with God while depositing that colorful light around her. She had meaningful glimpses of God here, but now she sees Life face-to-face in most glorious light. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
Ella is survived by her parents, Janis and Roland Leal, her nine siblings and their spouses Emilie (Leal) and Nathan Plowman, Elise Leal, Caroline (Leal) and Joe Dominguez, Abigail (Leal) and Evan Scallan, Luke and Hope (Wright) Leal, Ava Leal, Josiah Leal, Caleb Leal, and Eden Leal, along with several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Public visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5:30pm-7:00pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628. Intimate celebration of life service will be held at the same place on Friday, January 13, at 10:00am.
Appropriately fitting who she is, one of her recent journal entries ended with this from Psalm 16:6: “The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.”
