

A much loved husband, father and grandfather, Kotohito Furutani, 80 of Georgetown, Texas passed away on April 13, 2025. He was raised in Japan living in Tokuyama until he moved to Tokyo to attend and receive a business degree from Takushoku University. After receiving his degree he moved to Los Angeles, California.
Kotohito (Tony) worked as an Interpreter/Tour Guide for the Japan Travel Bureau for 30 years. Once he retired from there, he studied Shiatsu Massage as he "liked to help people" and practiced for several years in Santa Clarita, CA.
He loved golf, meditation and his grandchildren. Although strict, he felt his grandchildren were special. In 2020, Kotohito and his wife, Betty moved to Sun City in Georgetown, TX to enjoy family and more golf.
Kotohito is preceded by his son, Jeremy, and will be missed by his wife, Betty, children John Furutani, Lisa Furutani and Jeff, his grandchildren Drea, Connor, Ronnie, Lexi and Jake.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation be made to the charity of your choice.
