

A service celebrating Lambert’s life is being held at 1PM on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg, TX. Interment following at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Honoring Lambert (Bert), serving as pallbearer’s are Luke Thibodeaux, Phillip Schneider, Gary Kurio, David Kurio, Andy Schneider, Stephen Schneider, Terry Schneider and Jeffrey Schneider.
Lambert was born January 12th, 1928 in Walburg, TX to the late Philip Christian and Esther Marie Hanusch Schneider. He spent his early years on the family farm and was later drafted into the US Army Air Corp. Bert was honorably discharged to return to help his father on the farm in 1947. Lambert then spent a number of years in Chicago getting an education as a diesel mechanic and tradesman engineer. He then returned to Texas and entered the oilfield services business for companies including Homco in Houma, La, Great Lakes Petroleum Services and Gearhardt Owens in Houston specializing in well logging and perforating. He met Betty Kapsos while in Louisiana and they married on November 1st, 1952 in New Iberia, La. Together they had a son Phillip Theodore and a daughter Deborah Lynn and moved to Houston where Lambert was based the rest of his working career.
Bert and Betty supported their children through little league, cheerleading, softball and were active in high school sports booster club and hosted numerous functions for the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. They attended many A&M football games together. Bert loved bowling, fishing with his brothers, attending car races, and was also a Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
For many years Lambert was active in the Lutheran Church where he served on many committees and most recently a member of Gloria Day Lutheran Church in Nassau Bay, TX where he served as an usher and on the hospital visitation ministry.
Bert and Betty divorced in the early 1980’s but they remained close and helped each other through their various life challenges.
Lambert was true to his German roots and loved a good beer. He was caring, jovial, very proud of his family, and loved to barbeque and seemed to collect a myriad of BBQ grills.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip Christian and Esther Marie Hanusch Schneider, brother Arvilee Schneider, and infant sister Merlen Schneider, half brothers Emil Schneider, Gus Schneider and half sister Lille Dean.
Lambert leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Phillip Theodore, his daughter Deborah Lynn Renner, son in law Kevyn Renner, five grandchildren Ashley Nichols, Luke Thibodeaux, Phillip Schneider, Kelley and Kayla Renner, sister Tillie Kurio, brother Horace Schneider, sister in law Sandra Schneider, along with numerous family and friends.
