

Lloyd Muench passed away on September 17, 2025. Born on January 23, 1935 in Lexington MO, to Omer and Francis Muench, where he lived until marriage to Janet Payne on June 15, 1938. Lloyd had two sons David Lloyd Muench (June 1961) and Gary Allen Xaoui (June 1967). He also had family through David’s marriage to Gail Muench: Erica Cymbalak (Granddaughter), Ryan Hobbs (Grandson), Brandon Hobbs (great grandson), Kyler Hobbs (great grandson) and four great, great, grandchildren: Isaac Hobbs (5), Lilith Hobbs (2), Daxton King (4) and Oliver Tucker (3). He enjoyed many holidays with five generations present. Lloyd lived in many places: The Villages Florida, Columbus Ohio, Deerfield Wisconsin, to name a few recent places., Most recently he and Janet moved to Round Rock, Texas to be closer to his family. He enjoyed this time being able to visit family frequently.
Lloyd was a farm boy, raised on his parent’s farm in Lexington MO. He had many stories about working on the farm, whether Dairy production, hay fields, crops or animals they did it all. He did not stay in farming though. Lloyd joined the Army and worked in electronics with a secret team he would never talk about. Afterward, Lloyd went to college at Missouri University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering. He used that degree in the medical electronics field. He worked on one of the first artificial hearts and later sold medical equipment like defibrillators, EKG machines, and breathing machines. He moved around often as his sales areas changed. Later Lloyd received an MBA and advanced to management. After retirement, Lloyd worked as an Adjunct Professor at Ohio State University.
His church was always very important to Lloyd. Everywhere he lived he participated in the Presbyterian church. He loved Jesus and was a devout Christian. His faith sustained him through many challenges and health issues. He demonstrated his faith through service like volunteering as a free handyman for the congregation or as a Decon in the church. Lloyd cared a great deal for his family and loved the outdoors. He would often take his wife and sons camping and canoeing. When his sons were of age he participated with them in Boy Scouts as Assistant Scout Master for the troop. The troop usually camped or hiked once every month with Lloyd helping to lead the boys. Lloyd was a Democrat, believing that the government should serve the people.
Lloyd was very friendly and enjoyed meeting people and being with friends. He made sure to have space in his home for entertainment as well. He also enjoyed beer, never to excess, but it was certainly a favorite drink. During his life Lloyd had several hobbies. For example, he enjoyed cooking with sourdough. He made the best pancakes and bread.
Memorial Services will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church on Gattis School Road in Round Rock, Texas on Saturday September 27, 2025 at 1:00 PM central time.
