Madelyn (Maddy) Drew Schultze passed peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on December 29, 2015 at 8:12pm at St. David’s Medical Center NICU in Austin, Texas. She was born on July 1, 2015 and spent her entire 181 day life inspiring others both here and afar.
Maddy was an amazing little girl with the biggest and brightest blue eyes that could melt the hearts of anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was soft and sweet, but Maddy also had the spirit of a warrior. She fought hard through a plethora of medical procedures and treatments, defying the odds and making her own rules along the way.
Maddy treasured hearing her loved ones’ voices. She always enjoyed a good book and having songs sung to her. Maddy was especially fond of her crib mobile, which would mesmerize her as she would watch it spin around for hours, playing soft classical music and helping her relax.
Maddy is survived by her parents, Jeff and Jaime Schultze; her twin sister, Ally; her brother, William; her maternal grandparents, Andrew and Becki Lipari (Papa and Nana); her paternal grandparents, Bill Schultze and Jan Robin (Baba and JanMa); her Grandma, Linda Holtburg and husband Gary; her uncle and Godfather, Brent Schultze; her uncle, Jason Lipari and aunt Krista Lipari; her Godmother, Stacey Cartwright; as well as countless extended family members and all of those who loved and cared for her.
Maddy’s tiny little footprints have made such a large impression on the lives that she has touched.
