

Bud joined the army in 1967. He served two tours in Vietnam. After his second tour he was stationed at Ft. Hood where he met Beverly Fisher of Florence, Texas. The couple married on Aug 5, 1972. He retired from active duty in January 1989. He was then employed with Tri-City Property Management for 18 years. Bud was a faithful member of the church of Christ for the past 43 years. He served as a deacon while worshiping with the Southside congregation in Killeen. The last 10 years his membership was with the congregation on W. S. Young Drive. Bud was always anxious to help out any mission work and eager to spread the gospel of Christ.
Bud’s hobbies included buying, selling, painting, and restoring cars. He loved NASCAR. He was ‘Mr. Fix-it’ to many. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He loved people. He enjoyed laughter.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Killeen, TX; two daughters, Rachel Lane and husband Mike of Killeen, TX and Robin Leatherwood and husband Larry of Georgetown, TX; his mother, Lu Williams of Golden, MO; two brothers, Jim Evans of Walker, MO and Danny Williams of Ft. Worth, TX; one sister, Barbara Evans of Jal, NM; two grandchildren, Annie and Austin Lane of Killeen, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the church of Christ on W. S. Young Drive in Killeen, Texas on July 2, 2010 at 11am with Bro. Boyce Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the church of Christ on W. S. Young “Mission Fund”.
