Melba Jewell Owen

Melba J. Owen died and was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 9, 2023. She was born in Austin, Texas to Theron and Alice Park on March 16, 1932. She was happily married to Delvin Owen, the love of her life, on June 25, 1949 until his death on April 4, 2009. They were married almost 60 years. They have 2 sons, Roger and Terry. Melba and Delvin lived in Austin, Texas for 24 years, and moved to Lake Travis in 1973, where they spent many happy years. Melba retired from IRS after 25+ years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Freddy Park, James Park, Paschal Park, and David Park; sister Alta Taylor; daughter-in-law, Susan Owen; sister-in-laws Janie Park and Lorene Park; and brother-in-law Don Taylor.

She is survived by son Roger Owen and wife Rayeanne, and son Terry Owen; grandsons Starsky Owen and wife Monica, Clint Owen and wife Amanda, Zac Owen and wife Dory, Nick Owen and Felix Esquivel; granddaughters Kandi and husband James Gregory, Ashley and husband Colt Webb. She also had many great grandsons and great granddaughters. In addition, she had one special niece, Darla and two special nephews, Daniel and Chester.

A funeral service for Melba will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628.
