

She was born, January 31, 1948 in Taylor, Texas, to Leonidas “Londie” Marcellus Williams and Mollie Beatrice Williams (Hughes). She and all of her eight brothers and sisters were reared in Georgetown, Texas from birth. She attended Carver High School in Georgetown and earned her CNA certification in Brownwood, Texas.
Mollie received Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church in Georgetown, Texas. Mollie will forever be remembered as a kind and quiet woman, whose sweet, sweet spirit positively affected everyone she met. Prior to her disability, she worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Sweetbriar Nursing Home in Georgetown, where she truly enjoyed working with the elderly and disabled. Mollie was a talented cook, who knew how to make delicious and nutritious meals for her girls on a tight budget. Mollie also adored cats and any stray that came to the door never went away hungry. In addition, she was a gifted seamstress who could sew any garment upon first glance by designing her own patterns. Mollie would sew, hem, repair, darn and patch clothing for anyone in her community who asked, and would not charge them a fee. Mollie’s legacy was one of kindness, modesty, honor, generosity and genuine integrity.
Mollie is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Denise Jones (Gregory) of Killeen, Texas and Mollie Patricia Sample of Georgetown, Texas; her cherished granddaughters, Travonne Sheree Williams and Xyephany Etoya Sample; sisters, Lona Johnson (George) of Miami, Florida and Peggy Williams of Austin, Texas. She was married to David Sample for 49 years. In addition, she leaves behind nieces and nephews, cousins and friends to mourn her loss. Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers, and her beloved daughter, Trialanie Sample.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Immediately following services at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, interment will occur at Citizen's Memorial Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas, followed by a repast at Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church Fellowship Hall.
