

Nell Louise Bentley, 81, of Georgetown entered into rest Wednesday, January 11, 2012. She was born May 9, 1930 to Chester Hjalmer and Mary Irene (Mott) Blomquist in Austin, TX. Nell grew up in Austin attending and then graduating from Austin High School. She furthered her education by attending UT. She married the love of her life, John R. Bentley on August 27, 1949 at Shettles UMC, now Hyde Park UMC in Austin. The couple settled in Austin and started their family. Nell was dedicated to provide care for her family and enthusiastic about her children’s activities and their development. In later life, she served as a mentor in the Partners In Education Program at Frost Elementary School in Georgetown. She was active as a member of the congregation of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Georgetown, participating in many of the activities. Nell was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Nell is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Chester Blomquist, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Robert Bryan and his wife Cheryl of Amarillo, Thomas Bradford and his wife Lois of Round Rock, and Perry Alan and his wife Paige of Ft. Worth; sisters, Mary Frances and husband Steve Almquist of Hamilton, and Bonnie and husband Lee Todd of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Cory, Britt, Jennifer, Nolan, Taylor, Ashton, Robb, and Reed; great-grandchildren, Preslie, Ethan, Laney, and William. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Georgetown. A memorial service to celebrate Nell’s life and faith will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Georgetown. The family suggests memorials be made in Nell’s name to either St. John’s UMC or The Caring Place in Georgetown.
