Nellie G. Tuley

Our beloved mother, Nellie G. Tuley, age 87, passed away on May 23, 2013, in Georgetown, Texas. She was married to David L. Tuley for 37 years until his death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill and Frank Godfrey.

Nellie was a pretty lady, small in stature, but as one of "the greatest generation" she had great fortitude and perseverance. She was a compassionate and loving mother who devoted her life to her children. She was an avid reader and loved animals, especially cats. Cleo was her faithful companion and was always by her side or on her lap. She was very intelligent and had a wry sense of humor, often surprising people with her funny and to-the-point observations. She and David were members of St. Luke's Methodist Church for many years. Since becoming homebound, she really appreciated the home visits and cards from church members.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Craig Spraggins; her two sons, David T. and Richard R. Tuley; grandson, Sean Polk and his wife, Michelle; and her great-granddaughter, Ashana Marie Polk. We will miss you greatly, Mama.

A private graveside service will be held on June 6, 2013, at Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City, OK.
