

Paul E. Hatfield P.E., of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2016. He was born on April 6, 1927 in Springfield, Ohio, to parents Frank N. Hatfield and Margaret M. (Laudemann) Hatfield.
Paul was a hard working individual who took time from his busy career to teach and help others. He was actively engaged at New Hope Lutheran Church of Missouri City, Texas and Faith Lutheran Church of Georgetown, Texas. He served on various Boards and Committees at both. He served in the Stephen Ministries and also taught Sunday School Classes. He was actively involved with “Citizens on Patrol” in Sun City and had worked closely with the Indian Guides and the Boy Scouts.
Paul attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, transferring to the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where he received his Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1952. He was a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Ohio and Texas. He worked for numerous Corporations in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industry and the Engineering/Design/Construction Industry. After retirement he became an international private Consultant to these Industries.
During his career, he was a member and past Treasurer of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers and was listed in the American Association of Engineering Societies in their “Who’s who in Engineering”. He was also listed in Society of Plastic Engineers “Who’s who in Plastics and Polymers”.
Paul served in the Regular U.S. Army in the Seventh Infantry Division in Japan and Korea. He was Honorably Discharged from the Service in 1948.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. Hatfield, and is survived by his sons Neil E. Hatfield of Chicago/Georgetown, Texas, Eric P. Hatfield and wife Linda of Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter Gretchen J. Davenport of Round Rock, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew Hatfield, Nicholas Hatfield, Brandon Hatfield, Amanda Hatfield, Emily Hansen, Raymond Davenport and great granddaughter Isabelle Hansen.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church in Georgetown, Texas with Pastor Walt Pohland officiating.
