Born in Naples, Italy, Paula's family moved to America when she was two years old. New York City was home for her youth, and she remained there when she became a schoolteacher and guidance counselor. When she married and raised a family with William Boyd, she retired, and instead directed her energies into home and parish life. An inexpressibly devoted and loving mother and wife, Paula could always be found either teaching religious education or encouraging the spread of devotional practices, particularly the Third Order Carmelites and the Feast of Divine Mercy. She endured over five years of metastatic breast cancer with inspiring courage and faith, persevering till the end; she will be profoundly missed. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church with burial to follow at Our Lady of The Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas
