

Pauline Emma Ischy Miller, 90, of Georgetown, entered into rest surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in a local care center. A native of Georgetown, she was born March 21, 1921 to Paul W. and Ola (Green) Ischy. Pauline grew up in and around the community, graduating from Georgetown High School. Pauline married the love of her life, Carl J. " Charlie" Miller on June 16, 1939 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Walburg. The couple settled down in the agricultural area around Georgetown and started their family. Pauline was a shining example of a homemaker. Raising her children and keeping the household together by gardening, cooking and canning, sewing clothing for her children and helping with the farming. She worshipped as a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Georgetown, serving in the Ladies Aide Committee there. She and Charlie served the community by delivering Meals-on-Wheels for over 15 years. Pauline was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She was known to be frugal in handling money, holding back her egg money to take trips with her family, after retiring She and Charlie loved to travel over the US and gather with friends to play dominoes. Pauline is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Elaine Bizzell; and a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Jansak-Noble; brothers, Armin, John, and Eugene Ischy; sister, Flora Robbins. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carolyn and husband Dickie Gardner, Kathleen Owens, Karen and husband Dickie Whiteaker, Pamela and husband Dale Pope all of Georgetown; grandchildren, Penny and husband Jay Dorfman, Joy and husband Mike Sansom, Ronnie Gardner and wife Jennifer, Linda Walston, Jason Walston, Thomas Bizzell, Justin Whitt and wife Lyn, and Sabrina Jansak-Noble and husband Nathaniel;brother, Edward Ischy; sister, Icie Williams; twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2011 in Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Georgetown. A funeral service celebrating Pauline’s life and faith will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church in Georgetown, with Rev. Paul D. Kersten and Chaplain Joe Cariker officiating. Pauline will be laid to rest next to her beloved Charlie in IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family suggests memorials in her name to: Christ Lutheran Church.
