
Pedro “Pepe” Carrasco, age 75 of Georgetown, died April 20, 2007 at his residence. He was born July 13, 1931 to Abelino and Sarah (Perez) Carrasco in Prairie Lea, Texas. He married Ofelia Faye Guajardo on October 13, 1956 in Anson, Texas. The family settled in Poteet and then 32 years ago moved to Georgetown, where Pepe worked as a painter. He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Ofelia of Georgetown, daughters; Sarah and her husband Julian Barrera of Georgetown, Mary Jane Carrasco of Pflugerville, Elizabeth and husband Lorenzo Romero of Burnet, Saferia “Sugar” and husband Daniel Salazar of Georgetown, sons; Mario of Lytle, Arthur and wife Judy of Pflugerville, Gabriel and wife Cindy of Georgetown, and Pedro “PJ” of Pflugerville, sisters; Lydia Rodriguez and Estella Ortiz-Medrano both of San Antonio, brothers; Abelino, Jr., Benny, Abel, and David all of Poteet, and Joe B. of Pleasanton, nineteen grandchildren; Trey, Ricky “Kiki”, Janelle, Danielle, Louie, Gabriela, Lorenzo, Julia, Ryan, Eric, Audriana, Crystal, Jared, Dominic, Bianca, Josh, Caleb, Neenah, and Nathan, eight great-grandchildren; Brandon, Dillon, Jacob, Luke, Meagan, Kayla, Jonathan, and Peter Gabriel. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N. IH 35 in Georgetown. There will be a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2007 in the chapel at The Gabriels. Interment will follow in the Guadalupe Cemetery in Georgetown. Honoring his memory as pallbearers will be: Abel Echavarria, Frank Medrano, Edward Montes, Mark Balderas, Juanito Hernandez, and Alvaro Esparza. The honorary pallbearers will be: Paul Guajardo and Elisoe Guajardo.
