

Richard L. “Doc” Workman July 6, 1929- December 24, 2008 Richard L. “Doc” Workman, Jr., left this world peacefully on December 24, 2008 after a long illness. Richard was born in Sheridan, Wyoming on July 6, 1929 the 2nd born to Richard L. Workman and Ferris Ann Pratt, whom he now joins along with his younger brother Ed. He is survived by his wife Helen and faithful pets in San Antonio. Richard had 3 children. He is survived by daughter: Mary K. Moore and her husband Chuck of Grand Junction, Colorado, his sister Ernestine Held and her husband Mel of Farmington, Utah, and his brother William N. Workman and wife Mary of Sandy, Utah. He is survived by 7 nieces and nephews in Utah, by 12 nieces and nephews in Texas and by Connie Louise Townsend and Nicholas Todd Frank. Richard’s early years were spent in Sheridan, Wyoming. He moved to Farmington, Utah in June of 1942. He graduated from Davis High School in 1947 and continued his education at the University of Utah earning is BS in Pharmacy, MS in Pharmacy Administration and a PhD in Pharmacognosy. He served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman during the Korean War. He was employed as a Pharmacy supervisor for Skaggs-Albertson, then Albertsons, and finally retired from Albertsons in 1994 after serving as a pharmacist for Albertsons in San Antonio. After retiring his days were spent enjoying life, family, and volunteering for the neighborhood association. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Dr. John D. Duncan and Bob Ed Shotwell will officiate at the funeral service at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery.
