

Robert (Bob) Carl Pollsen, age 89, of Georgetown, Texas passed away June 27, 2015. He was born March 27, 1926 in Parma, Ohio to parents Thomas and Anna Pollsen. Bob earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. His rank at time of discharge was Aviation Electronic Technician’s Mate Second Class. He married Merry Rose Kellar on June 19, 1949 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Bob was an Eagle Scout, past President and owner of Penn Resister Corp., and was the Director of the Georgetown club of ACBL (American Contract Bridge League).
Bob loved his wife, his children and next to those his passion was playing the game of bridge. He had been an avid bridge player for over 50 years and was just points away from Silver Life Master. He used his handcrafting skills with the lathe to make beautiful wooden lamps. He also enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes.
He is survived by: wife – Merry Rose Pollsen in Georgetown, Texas, Sister – Arline McIntosh in Citrus Heights, California, Son – Robert B Pollsen (and wife Nina Rubin) in Monroe, New York, Daughter – Susan Barrett in Galloway, Ohio, Daughter – Diane St. James (and husband Steve) in Georgetown, Texas, Daughter – Renee Page (and husband Robert) in Round Rock, Texas. He also has 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, July 6, 2015 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
