

Born December 16, 1937, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Robert proudly served in the United States Army during the Cold War and later in the Army Reserves, achieving the rank of SP5 with Troop F, 2nd Recon Squadron, 6th Armored Cavalry.
Following his military service, Robert built a career in rail engineering and safety. In 1986, he helped design Pittsburgh’s light rail system and later contributed to national light rail safety standards, including work on the Light Rail Safety Oversight Handbook for Homeland Security.
A lifelong musician, Robert began playing piano and accordion at age five and later led the polka band “The Melo Tones.” He enjoyed golf, music, and traveling throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Nino Sedlock of Georgetown, Texas; his daughter, Jessica Sedlock of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Michael Yos, Taylor Yos, Leah (Jake) Appling, Ashley Gershman, Barbara Gershman, and Dustin Sedlock; his great-grandchildren, Luke Appling, Reagan Appling, Emmy Yos, Lillian Turner, and Russell Barton; his stepchildren, Alison Kruse of Pennsylvania and Adam Kruse of California; and several first cousins. He was preceded in death by his children, Anita Vadnais and Robert Sedlock Jr., and by Nancy Sedlock.
A committal service with military honors will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, located at 11463 TX-195, Killeen, Texas, 76542, on February 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm. There will be no viewing at the funeral home.
