Sandra Kay Kerr, affectionately called Kay by several of her family members, was born in Ellerbe, North Carolina. She was the wife of the late Renford Kerr, and the daughter of the late James Hank Alexander Dockery and the late Wyomia Elizabeth Jackson Dockery. Sandra moved to Rochester, NY where she married Renford and raised their family. She relocated to Texas in 2002.
Sandra was a woman who exhibited love, courage, and strength…much like her father, she liked watching the old western shows. She was selfless, always concerned about the needs of others, and had the heart of a giver. Her joy was in The Lord and she loved going to church, always looking forward to Sunday. She talked about her husband, parents, children, siblings, and grandchildren all the time…family meant everything to her. She enjoyed all forms of Christian music from worship to Christian rap; she also enjoyed praise dancers; and treasured hearing the word of God. Sandra was a faithful member of The Abiding Glory Tabernacle and the Mother of the Church. She was loved and was an inspiration to the members.
Sandra Kay Kerr departed this earth and entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
Her memory will be treasured by her sons and their wives, Craig (Mary), and Ozzie; her daughters and their husbands, Andrea, Mechelle (Melvin); brothers and their wives, Richard (Jacquelene), Louis (Elaine), Robert (Joletha), Jackie, Donald; sisters Pauline, Claudine, Connie, Carrie, and Ann; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends.
